Privacy Policy

1. Summary

GenieConverter is designed with privacy as its default. The overwhelming majority of our tools process your files entirely inside your browser. Your documents are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never shared with any third party. When you close the tab, every trace of your file is gone.

2. What we collect

Account information (optional)

If you create an account, we store your email address, an optional display name, and authentication metadata (created at, last sign-in). We use this only to secure your account and personalize the experience.

Usage metrics (anonymous)

We log a small record for each tool run: the tool used, timestamp, approximate country, and success or failure. We do not log filenames or file contents. This helps us understand which tools are useful and detect abuse.

Payment information

If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our servers.

3. What we do NOT do

  • We do not upload your files to our servers for client-side tools.
  • We do not read, index, or analyze the contents of your files.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your files to train AI models.

4. Files and retention

Client-side tools (merge, split, compress, convert, unlock, sign, watermark, and more) never send your file to a server. They process the file inside the browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. There is nothing on our servers to retain.

A small number of tools require server assistance (for example, high-accuracy OCR or audio transcription that uses a specialized model). For those tools, the file is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection, processed in memory, and the result is returned to your browser. The uploaded file is automatically deleted within 1 hour, and typically much sooner. We do not keep backups of processed files.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies strictly to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (theme, layout). We do not use third-party advertising cookies for retargeting. Our advertising partners (see below) may set their own cookies subject to their own policies.

6. Advertising

GenieConverter is supported by display advertising. Ads are shown in clearly demarcated "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" areas and are never placed to trick you into clicking. Our advertising partners may use standard, non-personalized ad targeting based on the page you are viewing (contextual targeting). You can opt out of interest-based advertising at youradchoices.com or through your browser settings.

7. Security

All connections to GenieConverter use HTTPS with modern TLS. Passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms. Our infrastructure runs on hardened cloud providers with defense-in-depth controls. If you find a vulnerability, please report it responsibly to our security contact below.

8. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can manage your account from the dashboard or email us at the address below. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

9. Children

GenieConverter is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes

When we make material changes to this policy we update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service means you accept the current policy.
